The building was constructed in 1968, at the same time as the second stand of the Royan stadium. The pool has been in operation for over 40 years and, according to the official website of the town of Royan, remains the most popular sports facility in Royan.
More than 70,000 bathers are expected to use the pool every year, between the times it is open to the public and those reserved for schools and associations. The pool measures 25 meters and has 6 lanes. The pool is used by several associations: triathlon, diving, surf club, lifesaving association...
