Tahiti beach – Raguénez at Névez in Finistère is locatedin southern Brittany, in the Finistère department, in the commune of Névez, between the communes of Pont-Aven and Trégunc, and not far from the town of Concarneau. Névèziens call it Plage de Raguénez or Plage de Tahiti.
The name Tahiti comes from the painter Gauguin and his ‘Tahitian’ paintings. Gauguin lived in Pont-Aven, and also spent time in Port Manec’h to ‘paint’ scenes of life.
Tahiti – Raguénez beach is certainly the most beautiful beach in the commune of Névez, not far ahead of Port Manec’h beach and Rospico beach. It’s an ideal spot for swimming in the turquoise waters, fishing or sunbathing with the whole family. Your children can also build sand castles, play volleyball… The beach stretches over 1000 m, and even at the height of the season, there’s plenty of room for everyone.
You can reach it easily from the town of Névez, or from the village of Raguénez or Kerstalen, either on foot, by bike or by car. The beach is not far from the small, thatched village of Kercanic. So you can get there on foot, by bike, by bus, by cab or by car.
You can also get there in just a few minutes from the pointe de Trévignon, along the coast.
You can park in the parking lot to the south of the Raguénez plain, at the end of a cul-de-sac through the village of Kerstalen. Parking is free of charge.
You can also park in the parking lot opposite the Raguénez peninsula, near the slipway. Parking is free of charge.
The Tahiti- Raguénez beach is over 1000 meters long, and is surrounded by cliffs on the southern part, and by the boat dock facing the Raguénez peninsula on the northern part… Even at the height of the season, there’s plenty of room for everyone, and the atmosphere remains friendly.
Tahiti is a long, sandy beach with turquoise waters and few waves. In fact, the beach is protected from the swell by the Raguénez peninsula and Ile Verte.
Tahit – Raguénez is a shallow but very long beach, and differs from other Névez beaches in its proximity to the slipway.
Conne à pour la plage de Rospico, there are no beach cabins like at Port-Manec’h, or sailing or surfing centers like at Port Manech, Kersidan or Dourvei.
On the other hand, the water is translucent, and the beach remains calm, even in high season. You can also enjoy the view from the coastal path along the beach.
Yes, but you have to be careful, as swimming is not supervised, even during the summer season. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
From the beach, you can easily get to the Pointe de Trévignon, and enjoy its beaches and marina, where you can set sail for the Glénan archipelago. You can also easily drive a few minutes to the Dourvei beach or even the Kersidan beach, for windsurfing and kite surfing, for example.
Not far from Raguénez beach, you can visit the typical village of Kercanic (thatched cottage village), as well as Kerascoet.
You can take a walk along the coastal path (also known as the GR 34), which overlooks the ocean, to Rospico beach, then on to Port Manec’h, where you can also take advantage of the sailing centers, or enjoy a drink.
You can also take a bike ride along the Névezienne circuit, which allows you to discover the commune of Névez and its most beautiful cultural and landscape assets.
The city of Névez is known for its fine sandy beaches and its unspoilt blue waters. It is ideally located between Trégunc and Pont-Aven.
From Port Manech or the Pointe de Trévignon, you can embark for the Glénan archipelago, or the city of Pont-Aven, city of painters.
Of course, as explained above, you can take advantage of its beaches – Rospico beach, Port Manec’h beach, Tahiti beach, Raguénez beach, Kersidan beach, Dourvei beach – as well as its many activities and market…
But don’t forget to take the time to (re)discover the architecture of the neo-Breton houses, that of the thatched cottages (of Kereascoet or Kercanic), or the cultural and Breton heritage elements.
Port Manech
Port Manec’h is a village in the commune of Névez, at the mouth of the river Aven. It boasts a beautiful beach, with a breathtaking view over the mouths of the Aven and Belon rivers, and a port that was once home to sardine fishermen. Port Manech had its heyday during the Belle Epoque, and there are still wooden bathing cabins to bear witness to this glorious past.
Here again, a very well-known painter, Paul Gauguin, liked to come and paint fishermen or women in Breton headdresses; when he was staying at Pont-Aven.
NévezNévez is a pretty little town in Southern Brittany, France, on the Atlantic coast. It lies between the towns of Trégunc and Pont-Aven.
