The Chay Beach in Royan is one of the sandy beaches in Royanon the Côte de Beauté in Charente Maritime. It lies between the Pigeonnier beach and the Pointe du Chay, not far from the Foncillon convention center, and close to the Royan ferry that crosses over to the Pointe de la Grave. It is about 200 m long and is a popular family beach. holidaymakers and Royan residents alike.

It is located in an urban area, on the Pointe du Chay, near the site of the former Fort du Chay, which has now disappeared. Swimming is possible, with lifeguards on duty in July and August - please refer to the notice boards on site.

On the beach, you can enjoy the terrace of a bar-restaurant. Please note that pets are not allowed. It's quick and easy to get to the seafront at Royan from the beach, or Pontaillac.

Close to the beach is the Pontaillac district, with its beautiful beach and casino. Further afield, you can visit the church of Notre Dame de Royan, the Grande Conche beach, or Royan's central market.
